What is BST?
The Basic Safety Training (BST) course is the GWO standard training on safety and risk awareness aimed at personnel working in the wind sector. BST certifies the acquisition of the basic necessary knowledge and skills to work in WTG environment.

Refresher courses
After two years you can maintain the validity of your certificate in GWO Basic Safety Training by doing refresher courses of each module.
BST course modules
Basic Safety Training (BST) is a certification that consists of on 5 modules focused on the different areas of basic health and safety training needed to work safely, prevent risks and respond appropriately to emergencies in a WTG environment.
The onshore itinerary consists of 4 modules, to which one more module is added in the offshore itinerary.

First Aid
Content: delegates will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to use lifesaving First Aid techniques in a WTG environment. This course is based on the best standards and complies with the requirements of the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) and the American Heart Association (AHA).
Hours: 14 hrs (2 days)
Validity: 24 months

Fire awareness
Content: delegates will acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to identify and prevent the main causes of fire in a WTG environment. They will also learn how to safety act with the available means in the initial stage of a fire. Moreover, they will train in procedures and techniques to evacuate personnel from a WTG in case the fire cannot be controlled.
